Opportunities

An Opportunity is a qualified Sales prospect with a likely chance that they will be able to do business with your company. You have established that they have buying power and have entered into the buying cycle. This module allows you to track your Opportunities throughout the Sales Pipeline until the deal is 'Closed Lost' or 'Closed Won'.

Key Fields

  • Account Name: the Account (organisation) this opportunity is associated with. Linking the opportunity to an account connects it to all other activity on that account.

  • Amount: the expected value of the deal. Supports multiple currencies; SuiteCRM stores both the original currency amount and a USD equivalent for cross-currency reporting.

  • Close Date: the expected date the deal will close. Required field. Used in pipeline forecasting and reporting.

  • Sales Stage: where the opportunity sits in your sales pipeline: Prospecting, Qualification, Needs Analysis, Value Proposition, Id. Decision Makers, Perception Analysis, Proposal/Price Quote, Negotiation/Review, Closed Won or Closed Lost.

  • Probability: automatically set based on the Sales Stage, but can be overridden. Represents the likelihood of the deal closing and is used in weighted pipeline calculations.

  • Type: classifies the deal as New Business or Existing Business.

  • Lead Source: how the opportunity was generated, for example Cold Call, Email, Partner or Trade Show.

  • Campaign: links the opportunity to the campaign that influenced it, for ROI tracking.

  • Next Step: a freeform field to record the immediate next action required to progress the deal.

Relationships

From an Opportunity record you can view and manage all associated records via sub-panels:

  • Account: the organisation the opportunity is associated with.

  • Contacts: the individuals involved in the buying decision.

  • Activities: Calls, Meetings, Tasks and Emails logged against the opportunity.

  • History: archived emails and completed activities.

  • Documents: proposals, contracts and supporting files.

  • Quotes / Contracts: transactional records generated from the opportunity. See Quotes, Invoices & Contracts.

SuiteCRM includes a built-in Maps feature. A map panel showing the associated account’s address is available on Opportunity records. See Maps for details.
