SuiteCRM 8 automatically saves your email as a draft when closing, ensuring you never lose your work.
Drafts are stored until manually deleted or sent.
Drafts are saved when you close the compose modal if any of the following fields contain content:
Email body (excluding email signature)
Subject
Attachments
When you close the compose modal and a draft is saved, the "Draft has been saved." label briefly appears on screen to confirm your email has been preserved.
When drafts are saved, a button appears in the bottom right corner of the screen displaying:
The current number of drafts
10+ if there are more than 10 drafts

Click this button to view your list of saved drafts.

The draft list displays all your saved drafts with the following information for each:
Recipient: Shows the first "To" record, or the Related To record if it’s in the To list, or "No Recipients" if none specified
Subject: The beginning of the email subject
Last Modified: Date the draft was last modified
To edit a draft, click on the item in the draft list.
When editing a draft:
The modal header displays "Draft" instead of "New Email"
A trash icon appears in the bottom left corner to dismiss the current draft
The draft will not appear in the draft list while being edited

There are currently 2 ways to delete a draft:
The trash icon that shows on the draft list
The trash icon in the compose modal when editing a draft
Click the "Dismiss All" button at the top of the draft list to delete all drafts at once. An inline confirmation (Cancel/Confirm) will appear before deletion.
ℹ️ Drafts currently being edited will not be dismissed when using "Dismiss All".
To disable the drafts popup, navigate to Admin > Email Settings and toggle off "Enable Drafts Popup".
When disabled, drafts will still be saved but the popup will not appear when closing the compose modal.
