Target Lists group individuals into named sets that are attached to Campaigns. Each list has a type that controls whether its members receive the campaign, are excluded from it, or receive test emails only. A single campaign can have multiple target lists of different types attached to it.
Name: the name of the target list. Required.
List Type: controls how this list is used within a campaign. See Target List Types below. Required.
Description: optional notes about the list’s purpose or contents.
Domain Name: used only for the Suppression List by Domain type. Enter a domain (for example competitor.com) to suppress all email addresses at that domain.
Entry Count: a read-only count of the number of records currently on the list.
A target list controls inclusion or exclusion of its members from a campaign using one of the following types:
| Target List Type | Description |
|---|---|
Default |
The normal list of targets you intend to send your campaign to. |
Seed |
These targets will receive the campaign, but they will not be recorded in the campaign statistics on the View Status page. Use this for people who preview and approve the campaign email before it is sent to everyone else. |
Suppression List - By Domain |
Targets with email domain names on this list will be suppressed. Add a domain to prevent the campaign from sending to any address at that domain. |
Suppression List - By Email Address |
Targets with individual email addresses on this list will be suppressed. A typical use is for people who have opted out of receiving emails from your company or from a specific campaign. |
Suppression List - By Id |
Suppression is applied by linking SuiteCRM records (Contacts, Leads, Targets, Accounts, Users) to the list. Unlike suppression by email address, all email addresses on a linked record are excluded. Required for Newsletter campaigns to support operational opt-out links. |
Test |
The list of those who receive test emails while you are still working on the campaign content. Use the Delete Test Entries button on the View Status page to clear test results between re-sends. |
Members can be added from the Target List’s Detail View using the sub-panels for Contacts, Leads, Targets, Users and Accounts. You can also add members in bulk by importing a file and selecting the target list during the final step of the import wizard.
