The Projects module allows you to arrange and track your organisation’s projects by breaking work down into tasks, allocating resources, and monitoring progress. A project can be visualised as a Gantt chart or in a project grid view.
Name: the project name. Required.
Status: the overall state of the project: Draft, In Review or Published.
Start Date / End Date: the planned start and end dates for the project. Both are required.
Priority: the importance of the project: Low, Medium or High.
Description: a summary of the project’s purpose and scope.
Override Business Hours: when checked, business hours rules are not applied when calculating project task durations.
Total Estimated Effort / Total Actual Effort: read-only totals calculated from all project tasks, showing planned versus actual hours spent.
Projects can be related to Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities, Cases and other records. Associations are managed from sub-panels on the project’s Detail View.

In the Actions bar, click Create Project.
On the Projects page, enter information for the following fields:
Name — Enter a name for the project.
Status — Select the project status: Draft, In Review or Published.
Start Date / End Date — Select the planned start and end dates.
Assigned To — The user responsible for the project. Defaults to you.
Priority — Select the importance of the project: Low, Medium or High.
Description — Enter a brief description of the project.
Click Save to create the project.
Once saved, the project’s Detail View opens. From here you can relate the project to Contacts, Opportunities, Cases and other records, and begin adding Project Tasks.
In the Project Tasks sub-panel, click Create.
Enter information for the following fields:
Name — Enter a name for the task.
Task ID — A numerical identifier for the task within the project.
Start Date / Finish Date — The expected start and completion dates for the task.
Percentage Complete — A value from 0–100 indicating how much of the task is done.
Priority — The importance of completing this task.
Milestone — Check this box if completing this task represents a key project milestone.
Project Name — Click Select to associate the task with a project if not already set.
Description — A brief description of the work required.
Click Save to create the task.
